The Pokémon Company International (TPCi) veröffentlichte heute zwei Pressemitteilungen, welche zum einen den Pokéwalker, wie in Japan und Korea auch, als beigelegtes Zubehör vorstellt und die Spiele-Packungen offiziell vorstellt (sie waren zwischenzeitlich bei Amazon.com zu sehen und verschwanden dann wieder von dort), und zum anderen die Eröffnung einer komplett erneuerten Pokémon-Website unter Pokemon.com ankündigt, die das alte Pokemon.com sowie die weiteren offiziellen Portale Go-Pokemon.com und Pokemon-Games.com ersetzt.
Die neue Website enthält neben News und Infos zu Spielen, Anime und Kartenspiel nun auch online ansehbare (englische) Episoden, die bisher nicht auf Website-Besucher aus USA beschränkt sind wie sonst meist bei solchen Online-Angeboten üblich. Daneben ist die wohl größte Neuerung die Möglichkeit, einen Account im Pokémon Trainer Club anzulegen, bei dem man wie beim japanischen Pokémon Daisuki Club ein eigenes Trainerbild mit Aussehen, Kleidung, Hintergrund und Extras gestalten kann. Mit Tokens, welche man in den ebenfalls neuen Mini-Spielen erhält, kann man weitere Artikel dazukaufen. Der Account ist offenbar auch für das Pokémon Organized Play, das die Teilnahme an offiziellen Kartenspielturnieren organisiert, zu nutzen.
Interessant ist auch, dass die Website eine Regionsauswahl bietet und bereits für die meisten relevanten Länder, so auch für Deutschland, Österreich und die Schweiz, zumindest eine kleine Infoseite anbietet – wirklich umfangreich ist nur die Seite für die USA. Dies könnte aber bedeuten, dass die Seite zukünftig auch für andere Regionen ähnlichen Umfang erhält und vielleicht die bisherige nicht mehr ganz zeitgemäße offizielle deutsche Seite ersetzt.
Die zweite Pressemitteilung enthält abgesehen von einer erneuten Vorstellung des Pokéwalker als Beigabe zu jedem HG/SS-Spiel nichts neues, mit ihr (und mit dem neuen Pokémon.com) wurden jedoch nochmals offiziell die amerikanischen Verpackungen gezeigt, links neben dem Text zu sehen. Für Interessierte sind die beiden die Pressemitteilungen unter „Weiterlesen“ zitiert.
Weiterhin fand sich auf Pokemon.com eine Ankündigung für die amerikanische Verteilung des Pikachu-farbenen Pichu bei GameStop-Filialen vom 30. Januar bis zum 14. Februar. Die Ankündigung wurde offenbar wieder entfernt, über Googles Cache ist sie aber noch nachlesbar. Vermutlich findet die Verteilung neben den USA auch in Puerto Rico statt, wie es mit Kanada aussieht ist nicht bekannt.

Auf Pokemon.com ist nun eine neue Ankündigung zu finden, die die Verteilung des Pikachu-farbenen Pichu meldet und nun nur US-Filialen von GameStop nennt.
New Pokéwalker Lets Players Bring the Fun of Pokémon Wherever They Go

The Pokémon in the Pokéwalker will gain experience points as the player walks, and can even go up one level when they are transferred back into the game. Players also can wirelessly connect two Pokéwalkers to trade items.
Letting players return to the beloved Johto region first introduced in Pokémon Gold Version and Silver Version for the portable Game Boy™ system, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions introduce several new enhancements for the series that enrich these timeless adventures. Created exclusively for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi systems, the games feature detailed graphics that spotlight the unique environments and hundreds of Pokémon that players can encounter and catch. Players can even see and interact with their favorite Pokémon outside of battle, selecting one from their team to follow behind their Trainer as they travel through the Johto region.
